Getting There

• Public Transport

  From downtown San Francisco, several Muni bus lines provide access to Golden Gate Park. The N Judah line stops at 9th Avenue and Irving Street, a short walk to the main entrance. Alternatively, take any bus that stops along the Fulton Street side of the park and walk south. A single ride on Muni is $3.00, or $2.75 with a Clipper Card or MuniMobile. A day pass costs $5.70 providing unlimited rides on buses, trains, and historic streetcars.

• Walking

  If you are already in Golden Gate Park, follow signs towards the Japanese Tea Garden and the California Academy of Sciences. The San Francisco Botanical Garden is located between these two landmarks. From the Music Concourse, walk east along the main path; the garden will be on your left. The main entrance is located on 9th Avenue, south of the park's central concourse.

• Ride Share/Taxi

  Request a ride to the intersection of 9th Avenue and Lincoln Way, near the main entrance of the garden. Drop-off locations are also available along Martin Luther King Jr. Drive near the main entrance. A short ride from downtown San Francisco will typically cost between $15 and $25, depending on traffic.

• Driving

  Enter Golden Gate Park via 9th Avenue and Lincoln Way. Limited free street parking is available on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive, Nancy Pelosi Drive, and Bowling Green Drive. Parking is also available at the Music Concourse Garage, accessible from Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. The garage is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Parking rates vary, but expect to pay around $3.75 per hour.
