Public Transit (Bus)
From downtown Berkeley, walk to the nearest bus stop on Shattuck Avenue. Catch the AC Transit bus number 65 towards San Francisco. Stay on the bus for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the stop at California Street and 6th Avenue. Once you get off, walk east on California Street for about 5 minutes until you reach Stow Lake in Golden Gate Park.
Biking
If you prefer to bike, rent a bike from a local bike rental shop in Berkeley. Start by heading south on Shattuck Avenue, then turn onto University Avenue heading west. Cross the bridge over the bay and continue straight into San Francisco. Once in the city, follow signs towards Golden Gate Park. Enter the park and keep heading west until you reach Stow Lake. It should take around 45 minutes to an hour depending on your speed.

For those who enjoy walking, start at the UC Berkeley campus and head south towards Hearst Avenue. Continue walking straight until you reach the intersection with Shattuck Avenue. From there, walk towards Mission Street and catch the 5 bus towards the Richmond District. Disembark at California Street and 6th Avenue and walk east for about 5 minutes to Stow Lake.
