Getting There

Walking
If you are on the UC Berkeley campus, head towards Sather Gate, which is located at the eastern end of Sproul Plaza. From Sather Gate, walk up the path toward the Campanile (the bell tower). Continue past the Campanile, and take the path leading up to the northeast towards the Lawrence Hall of Science. Founders Rock is located in the vicinity of the Lawrence Hall of Science, approximately a 15-minute walk from Sather Gate. Keep an eye on the signs leading to the Hall of Science, as Founders Rock is a short distance away.

Public Transport (Bus)
From the UC Berkeley campus, you can take the AC Transit bus number 65 from the nearest bus stop (located on Bancroft Way). Make sure to check the schedule, as buses may not run frequently. Get off at the stop closest to the Lawrence Hall of Science. The walk from the bus stop to Founders Rock will take about 5-10 minutes. Note that the bus fare is approximately $2.50, so have some cash or a Clipper Card ready.

If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the nearby bike-sharing programs available on campus. Ride towards the Lawrence Hall of Science, which is situated a bit uphill. The ride should take you about 10 minutes from the main campus area. Be sure to lock your bike at one of the bike racks available near Founders Rock, as there may not be a dedicated bike parking area at the rock itself.
