    Start at the Big Sur River Inn located at 46840 Highway 1, Big Sur, CA. From the inn, head north on Highway 1 for about 0.2 miles until you reach the Big Sur Post Office. Turn left onto the dirt road next to the post office that leads to the Big Sur Trail. Follow the trail for approximately 1.5 miles, which will take you along the beautiful Big Sur coastline. As you walk, keep an eye out for signs pointing towards Ewing Road and Sloat Monument. Continue along the trail, which will eventually lead you to a junction. Take the path that branches to the left towards Ewing Road. Once you reach Ewing Road, follow it for about 0.5 miles, and you will see Sloat Monument on your right.

    If you are starting from Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park, rent a bike at the park's visitor center. Head south on the designated bike path towards Highway 1. Once you reach Highway 1, turn right and head north for about 3 miles. Watch for the entrance to Ewing Road on your right. Turn onto Ewing Road and continue for about 0.5 miles. Sloat Monument will be located on your left side. This route will offer stunning views of the coastline, so take your time and enjoy the ride.
