Getting There

    Start at the Big Sur River Inn located at 46840 Highway 1, Big Sur, CA. From the inn, head north on Highway 1 for about 0.2 miles until you reach the Big Sur Post Office. Turn left onto the dirt road next to the post office that leads to the Big Sur Trail. Follow the trail for approximately 1.5 miles, which will take you along the beautiful Big Sur coastline. As you walk, keep an eye out for signs pointing towards Ewing Road and Sloat Monument. Continue along the trail, which will eventually lead you to a junction. Take the path that branches to the left towards Ewing Road. Once you reach Ewing Road, follow it for about 0.5 miles, and you will see Sloat Monument on your right.
