Discover more about Manhattan Beach Pier

Stretching 928 feet into the Pacific Ocean, the Manhattan Beach Pier is more than just a structure; it's a vibrant symbol of the city's history and coastal culture. Designed by A.L. Harris, the pier was completed in 1920, replacing earlier wooden piers that had succumbed to storms. Its innovative circular end was designed to withstand the powerful Pacific waves, a testament to early engineering. Today, the pier is a popular destination for locals and tourists alike. Anglers cast their lines hoping to catch local fish, while surfers ride the waves below. The pier is also home to the Volleyball Walk of Fame, honoring the sport's legends with bronze plaques. At the pier's end sits the Roundhouse Aquarium, offering a glimpse into the marine life of Santa Monica Bay. The pier has faced its share of challenges, including storm damage and decay. However, restoration efforts have preserved its historic charm, ensuring its place as a beloved landmark for generations to come. Whether you're seeking panoramic ocean views, a glimpse of marine life, or simply a stroll along the coast, the Manhattan Beach Pier offers a quintessential Southern California experience.
