    Getting There

    Driving

    The main entrance to Topanga State Park is at Trippet Ranch. From the Ventura Freeway (101), exit at Topanga Canyon Boulevard and drive south for 3 miles to Entrada Road, then turn left. From Pacific Coast Highway, travel north on Topanga Canyon Boulevard, turn right on Entrada Road, and follow it to the park entrance. Parking at Trippet Ranch costs $10 per day per vehicle, payable by cash at the gate. A reduced fee of $5 is available after 4 PM. Free parking is available along Entrada Road outside the park.

    Public Transport

    To reach Topanga State Park via public transport from Los Angeles, take the Metro E Line tram to Downtown Santa Monica Station. Transfer to the Line 134 bus towards Topanga Canyon, alighting at Pacific Coast Highway / Topanga Canyon. From Santa Monica, take the direct Line 134 bus to Pacific Coast Highway / Topanga Canyon. The bus fare is $2. From the bus stop, transfer to the limited bus service to Topanga Canyon Bl/Cuesta Cala Rd. From there, walk.5 miles north on Topanga Canyon Bl, turn right at Entrada Dr and walk one block to the trailhead.

    Local tips

    Visit in spring for vibrant wildflowers and migrating birds, or in fall for spectacular autumn colors.
    Bring plenty of water and sun protection, especially during summer hikes, and be aware of rattlesnakes.
    Parking at Trippet Ranch costs $10 per day, or $5 after 4 PM; free parking is available outside the park.
    Check trail closures before you go, as some trails may be closed for restoration or due to fire risk.
