From Castro Valley, walk to the Castro Valley BART station, which is located at 3457 Castro Valley Blvd. Take the BART train towards San Francisco/Daly City. When you arrive at the Montgomery St. station in San Francisco, transfer to the Muni Metro. Take the Muni Metro N-Judah line towards Ocean Beach. Get off at the 9th Avenue & Irving Street stop. From there, walk approximately 10 minutes northwest to reach the de Young Museum at 50 Hagiwara Tea Garden Dr.

Start at Castro Valley BART station. From there, catch the AC Transit Bus 14 towards San Francisco. Get off at the 19th Ave & California St. stop. From this stop, you can catch the Muni Bus 44-O'Shaughnessy towards the Golden Gate Park. Get off at the Stanyan St. & Hagiwara Tea Garden Dr. stop, which is close to the de Young Museum at 50 Hagiwara Tea Garden Dr. It’s a short walk to the museum from there.
