Getting There

  • Public Bus

    From Castro Valley, head to the nearest bus stop. You can take the AC Transit Line 35 bus towards Hayward. Ride for about 10 minutes until you reach the Hayward BART Station. Once there, transfer to the BART train headed towards San Francisco/Daly City. Stay on the train for approximately 30 minutes and get off at the Civic Center station. From the Civic Center station, exit and walk about 15 minutes northwest along McAllister Street until you reach the intersection with Stanyan Street. Turn left onto Stanyan Street and continue for about 5 minutes until you reach the Haight-Ashbury district.

  • BART Train

    From Castro Valley, make your way to the Castro Valley BART station. Purchase a ticket for a trip to San Francisco/Daly City. Board the train heading towards San Francisco and enjoy the ride for about 30 minutes. Get off at the Civic Center station. After exiting the station, walk approximately 15 minutes northwest along McAllister Street and turn left onto Stanyan Street. Continue on Stanyan Street for about 5 minutes to arrive in the Haight-Ashbury area.

    If you are already in Castro Valley, you can take a scenic walk to the Hayward BART station, which will take about 30-40 minutes depending on your pace. Head south on Castro Valley Boulevard, then turn left onto Redwood Road. Continue walking until you reach the Hayward BART station.
