Getting There

  • Bus

    From Castro Valley, head to the nearest bus stop on Castro Valley Boulevard. Catch the AC Transit Bus Line 31 heading towards Hayward BART. Ride the bus for about 15-20 minutes until you reach the Hayward BART station. Once you arrive at Hayward BART, exit the station and transfer to Bus Line 110. Board the 110 bus heading towards 'San Lorenzo'. Stay on the bus for approximately 10-15 minutes and get off at the stop for Breakwater Avenue. From there, walk approximately 10 minutes northwest along Breakwater Avenue until you reach the Hayward Shoreline Interpretive Center located at 4901 Breakwater Ave.

    If you prefer to cycle, rent a bicycle in Castro Valley and head towards the Castro Valley Creek Trail. Follow the trail until you connect with the Hayward Regional Shoreline. Continue along the shoreline path, which will lead you directly to Breakwater Avenue. Follow Breakwater Avenue to the Hayward Shoreline Interpretive Center at 4901 Breakwater Ave. The ride should take about 30-40 minutes depending on your pace.
