BART Train
From Castro Valley BART Station, purchase a ticket to Montgomery St Station in San Francisco. Board a train heading towards San Francisco/Daly City. The journey will take approximately 35 minutes. Once you arrive at Montgomery St Station, exit the station and walk towards Market St. Head west on Market St for about 5 minutes until you reach 488 Market St, where the Mechanics Monument is located.
Bus
From the Castro Valley Transit Center, take the AC Transit Line 97 towards the Bay Fair BART Station. Ride for about 15 minutes and get off at the Bay Fair BART Station. From there, take the BART train towards San Francisco/Daly City and get off at Montgomery St Station. After exiting the station, walk west on Market St for about 5 minutes until you reach the Mechanics Monument at 488 Market St.
Walking
If you're staying nearby in Castro Valley, you can enjoy a scenic walk to the Mechanics Monument. Start at the Castro Valley Park and head north towards East Castro Valley Blvd. Follow the boulevard until you reach the intersection with Redwood Rd. Turn left on Redwood Rd, and continue straight until you reach the Castro Valley BART Station. From there, follow the BART Train instructions to get to Montgomery St Station, then walk 5 minutes west on Market St to find the Mechanics Monument.
