Public Bus
From the center of Chula Vista, head to the nearest bus stop on Third Avenue. Take the MTS bus route 701 towards San Diego. Ride for approximately 30 minutes until you reach the 'La Jolla Village Square' stop. Transfer to the bus route 30 towards 'La Jolla'. Continue on bus route 30 for about 15-20 minutes until you get off at 'Coast Blvd & Girard Ave'. From there, walk south on Coast Blvd for about 5 minutes, and you will arrive at La Jolla Tide Pools (303 Coast Blvd, La Jolla, CA 92037).

Bicycle
If you're up for a bike ride, you can rent a bike from a local rental shop in Chula Vista. Start by heading north on Third Avenue and then turn onto East H Street towards the San Diego Bay. Follow the Bayshore Bikeway, which will take you along the waterfront. Continue riding until you reach the entrance of the Mission Bay Park area. From there, you will need to navigate through local streets towards La Jolla. Once you reach La Jolla, follow the signs to the coast, and you will arrive at the La Jolla Tide Pools after about 1.5 hours of biking.

If you're close to the bay area in Chula Vista, you can enjoy a scenic walk. Start from the Chula Vista Marina and walk north along the shoreline. Keep following the water until you reach the edge of the bay. Once you reach the intersection with E Street, turn left and continue walking until you reach the bus station near Third Avenue. From there, you can board the MTS bus route 701 to La Jolla as previously described. Walking directly to La Jolla is not feasible as it is quite a distance (over 15 miles), but combining walking to a bus station can be a pleasant option.
