Public Bus
From anywhere in Chula Vista, locate the nearest bus stop for the Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) bus service. You can use the MTS website or app to find the closest stop and bus route. Take the Route 701 (Blue Line) towards San Ysidro. Get off at the 'San Ysidro Transit Center' and transfer to the Route 992 bus heading towards Downtown San Diego. Once on the 992, stay on until you reach 'Ocean Beach' stop. The beach will be a short walk from the bus stop.
Bicycle
If you're comfortable riding a bicycle, you can rent one at various bike rental shops in Chula Vista. Head west on E Street until you reach the Bayshore Bikeway. Follow the path, which will take you along the waterfront towards San Diego. Continue on the Bikeway until you reach the Ocean Beach area. The ride is approximately 10 miles and offers beautiful views of the bay.
Walking
If you are near the Chula Vista Marina, you can walk towards the bayfront and follow the pedestrian paths leading to the San Diego Bay. Once you reach the bay, continue walking north along the water until you arrive at the Ocean Beach area. This walk can take a couple of hours, so make sure to wear comfortable shoes. Enjoy the scenery along the way!
Taxi or Rideshare
If you prefer a direct option, use a rideshare app like Uber or Lyft. Simply enter 'Ocean Beach, San Diego' as your destination. Depending on traffic, it will take about 20-30 minutes to reach Ocean Beach from central Chula Vista. Make sure to confirm the pickup location within Chula Vista for the best service.
