    If you are driving, start by getting onto CA-86 S from your location in Colorado Desert. Follow CA-86 S for approximately 23 miles. Take the exit toward CA-111 S/Niland. After about 7 miles, you'll merge onto CA-111 S. Continue on CA-111 S for about 4 miles until you reach Niland. In Niland, turn left onto Beal Rd. Follow Beal Rd for about 2 miles, and you will see Salvation Mountain on your right. There is no entry fee for visiting the mountain.

  • Public Transportation

    For those relying on public transportation, take a Greyhound bus to the nearest city, which is El Centro, CA. From El Centro, you can take a local taxi or rideshare service to reach Niland. The taxi ride from El Centro to Niland usually costs around $50-$70. Once you arrive in Niland, take Beal Rd heading east for about 2 miles to reach Salvation Mountain.

  • Biking

    If you're adventurous and prefer biking, you can bike from Niland. Once in Niland, head east on Beal Rd. It’s about a 2-mile ride, and you’ll enjoy the scenic desert landscape along the way. Make sure to bring plenty of water and sun protection, as it can get very hot in the desert.
