To reach The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens by car, start on the CA-111 N highway if you're coming from southern parts of Colorado Desert. Continue on CA-111 N for about 10 miles until you reach the junction with I-10. Merge onto I-10 N and drive for about 6 miles. Take exit 133 for CA-74 toward Palm Desert. After exiting, turn left onto CA-74 W and continue for about 2 miles. Then, turn right onto Portola Ave and drive for 1 mile. The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens will be on your left at 47900 Portola Ave, Palm Desert, CA 92260. Parking is available on-site, and there may be a parking fee of around $10, so keep some cash or a card handy.

If you prefer public transportation, start by taking the SunLine Transit Agency bus route 111, which services various locations within the Colorado Desert. Board the bus heading towards Palm Springs and get off at the stop at Portola Ave and I-10, which is the closest stop to The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens.
