Getting There

Walking
Start at the Coronado Ferry Landing, located at 1201 1st St, Coronado, CA 92118. From the ferry landing, head east on 1st St toward Orange Ave. Turn left onto Orange Ave and walk north for about 0.5 miles until you reach the intersection with 10th St. Turn right onto 10th St and walk for another 0.2 miles. Then, turn left onto the Coronado Bridge. Once you reach the base of the bridge, continue straight onto 4th St, which leads to a bike path. Follow the bike path until it merges with the waterfront area. Continue walking along the waterfront until you reach the La Jolla area, where you will find signs directing you to Birch Aquarium at 2300 Expedition Way.

Bicycle
If you prefer to bike, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops near the Coronado Ferry Landing. Start at the Ferry Landing and bike north on the bike path along the waterfront. Follow the path as it curves around the bay, enjoying views of San Diego skyline. After about 3 miles, you will arrive at the entrance to La Jolla. Continue through La Jolla until you reach Expedition Way. Birch Aquarium will be on your left, at 2300 Expedition Way.

To reach Birch Aquarium via public transportation, start by walking to the Coronado Ferry Landing. Take the ferry to downtown San Diego. Once you arrive at the San Diego Convention Center, take the MTS Bus Route 30 towards La Jolla. Ride the bus for about 30 minutes, and get off at the stop closest to Expedition Way. Walk about 10 minutes to reach Birch Aquarium at 2300 Expedition Way.
