    From any point in Hayward, head to the nearest BART station, which is Hayward BART Station. Board a train heading towards San Francisco/Daly City. After approximately 30 minutes, get off at the Montgomery St. station. Exit the station and transfer to the Muni streetcar. Board the F-Market & Wharves line towards Fisherman’s Wharf. Get off at the Powell St. stop. From there, walk north on Powell St. for about 5 minutes until you reach the intersection with Mason St. Turn right on Mason St., and the Cable Car Museum will be on your left at 1201 Mason St.

  • Public Transit - Bus

    Find the nearest AC Transit bus stop and take Bus 60 towards the Hayward BART station. Once you arrive at the BART station, purchase a ticket to Montgomery St. station in San Francisco. After arriving at Montgomery St., transfer to Muni. Take the Muni F-Market & Wharves line towards Fisherman’s Wharf and get off at Powell St. Walk north on Powell St. for about 5 minutes, turn right onto Mason St., and you will reach the Cable Car Museum at 1201 Mason St.

    If you are close to downtown Hayward, you can walk to the Hayward BART station. Once there, follow the directions for taking BART to Montgomery St. station and then switch to Muni, as described above. Walking from Hayward to the BART station will take about 20-30 minutes, depending on your starting point.
