From Irvine, head to the nearest bus stop and take the OC Bus Route 86 towards Laguna Beach. Once on the bus, remain on until you reach the 'Pacific Coast Hwy at Dana Point Harbor Drive' stop. From there, it’s a short walk down Dana Point Harbor Drive to Doheny State Beach, which will be on your right.

Make your way to the Irvine Train Station and board the Metrolink Train on the Orange County Line towards Oceanside. Disembark at the San Juan Capistrano station. From the station, you can catch the 191 bus towards Dana Point. Get off at the 'Dana Point Harbor Drive' stop, and walk a short distance to Doheny State Beach.
