Walking
Start at the Joshua Tree Visitor Center located at 6554 Park Blvd, Joshua Tree, CA 92252. Head northeast on Park Blvd for about 0.3 miles until you reach the intersection with Highway 62. Cross the highway and continue straight onto the trailhead for Skull Rock Trail, which is located about 1.5 miles along the road at the junction of Skull Rock Road and the main park road. Look for signs directing you to the Skull Rock Trailhead.
Biking
If you prefer biking, you can rent a bike from one of the local shops in Joshua Tree. Start at the Joshua Tree Visitor Center and head northeast on Park Blvd for 0.3 miles. Turn left onto Highway 62 and follow it for about 2 miles until you reach the entrance to the national park. Once inside, continue on the main park road for about 1.5 miles until you see signs for Skull Rock Trail. The trailhead will be on your right.
Public Transit and Walking
Although public transit options are limited, you can take a shuttle or bus to the nearest stop on Highway 62. From there, walk about 1.5 miles along the road towards the entrance of Joshua Tree National Park. Upon entering the park, look for the signs guiding you to the Skull Rock Trailhead, which is just off the main road.
