If you are in the central area of La Jolla, start by heading south on Prospect Street until you reach Girard Avenue. Turn left on Girard Avenue and continue straight until you reach the intersection with Torrey Pines Road. Cross Torrey Pines Road and continue walking south towards the La Jolla Cove area. From the Cove, head south along the coastline until you reach the bus stop at La Jolla Village Drive and Torrey Pines Road. From here, catch the #30 or #34 bus heading towards downtown San Diego. After approximately 25 minutes, get off at the stop at Balboa Park. From the bus stop, walk east for about 10 minutes until you reach Fleet Science Center located at 1875 El Prado.

To get to Fleet Science Center via public transportation from La Jolla, first walk to the nearest bus stop on La Jolla Boulevard. Take the #30 bus towards downtown San Diego. After around 30 minutes, transfer to the #7 bus at the stop on 5th Avenue. Ride the #7 bus for about 15 minutes, getting off at the stop near Balboa Park. From there, walk east for about 15 minutes to reach the Fleet Science Center at 1875 El Prado.
