Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are starting from La Jolla Cove, head east on Coast Blvd, then take a right on Girard Ave. Continue on Girard Ave until it meets La Jolla Blvd. Turn left onto La Jolla Blvd and walk straight until you reach the intersection with Torrey Pines Rd. Here, take a right onto Torrey Pines Rd and continue south. After about 1 mile, you will reach the intersection with Prospect St. Turn left onto Prospect St and continue until you reach the end, where you will find the beautiful views of the ocean. From there, you can follow the coastal path heading south until you reach the La Jolla Shores area. When you get to La Jolla Shores, continue walking along the beach until you reach the end near the Children's Pool. From there, you will have to walk inland, heading west towards the nearest exit until you reach Taylor St in San Diego. Continue on Taylor St until you arrive at Derby Dike, located at 0554 Taylor St.

    From La Jolla, take the bus number 30 or 31 from the nearest bus stop towards the San Diego transit center. Get off at the Old Town Transit Center, which is a short ride away. Once you arrive at the Old Town Transit Center, you can take a short walk to Derby Dike. Head southeast on Taylor St, and after about 0.5 miles, you will reach Derby Dike located at 0554 Taylor St.
