Walking
From Pier Plaza, access to the beach and pier is immediate. Simply walk west towards the ocean. The pier extends directly from the plaza, and the beach is accessible on either side. Note the proximity of lifeguard stations for safety information.
Public Transport
If arriving by Beach Cities Transit (BCT) Line 109 or Torrance Transit Line 13, disembark at a stop along Hermosa Avenue near Pier Avenue. From there, walk west on Pier Avenue towards the ocean. The Pier Plaza area and beach access will be directly ahead. A single ride on BCT or Torrance Transit costs approximately $1-$3.
Taxi/Ride-Share
Request a drop-off at Pier Plaza (intersection of Pier Avenue and Hermosa Avenue). From there, the beach and pier are a short walk west. Be aware that traffic can be congested, especially during peak hours and events. Ride-share costs from nearby areas like Redondo Beach or Manhattan Beach typically range from $10-$20, depending on demand.
Driving
When driving, aim for public parking lots near Pier Avenue. Metered street parking is also available on Hermosa Avenue and upper Pier Avenue. Parking rates typically range from $2.00 to $2.50 per hour. Note that parking can be challenging, especially during weekends and events, so arrive early or consider alternative transportation. Lot A, Lot B, and Lot C offer 3-hour parking.
