Public Transit
From your location in Malibu, head to the nearest bus stop to catch the Metro Bus Line 534 towards 'North Hollywood'. This bus will take you to the 'Universal City Station'. Once you arrive at Universal City, transfer to the Metro Red Line towards 'Union Station'. Get off at 'Hollywood/Highland Station'. From there, it's a short walk to the Hollywood Hills area. Head east on Hollywood Blvd, then turn left onto N Highland Ave and continue until you reach the Griffith Park area where the Astronomers Monument is located at 2800 E Observatory Rd.
Bicycle Rental
If you prefer biking, rent a bicycle from one of the local bike rental shops in Malibu. Start your journey heading east towards Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). Ride along PCH until you reach the intersection with Sunset Blvd. Turn left onto Sunset Blvd, then continue until you reach the Griffith Park area. Once you're in Griffith Park, follow the signs to the Griffith Observatory. The Astronomers Monument is located at 2800 E Observatory Rd, just outside the observatory.
Walking
If you are close enough and enjoy walking, start from the Malibu Pier. Walk along the beach towards the east until you reach the intersection with PCH. Cross PCH safely and continue walking east on Malibu Canyon Rd. Follow Malibu Canyon Rd as it turns into Coldwater Canyon Dr. This will eventually lead you to the Griffith Park area. Once you arrive at Griffith Park, head to E Observatory Rd where the Astronomers Monument is located at 2800 E Observatory Rd.
