Driving
From San Francisco, cross the Golden Gate Bridge and take US-101 North. Take exit 445B for CA-1 toward Mill Valley/Stinson Beach. Stay on CA-1 for approximately 7 miles. Look for the Muir Beach Overlook sign on your right. Turn left shortly after the sign, and then turn right into the parking lot. Parking is free but limited, especially during peak times. Consider arriving early or carpooling. Note that cell service can be unreliable in the area, so download offline maps beforehand.
Public Transport
While direct public transportation to Muir Beach Overlook is limited, you can take Golden Gate Transit Route 150 from San Francisco to the Marin City Hub. From there, you would need to take a taxi or rideshare to reach the overlook, which is approximately a 20-minute drive. Be aware that rideshares may be difficult to find for the return trip due to spotty cell service. Golden Gate Transit bus tickets cost $5-$8.
