From downtown Martinez, walk to the Martinez Amtrak station located at 601 Marina Vista Ave. Once there, take the 30 bus towards El Cerrito del Norte BART. Ride the bus for approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'University Ave & San Pablo Ave' stop in Berkeley. From there, walk east on University Ave for about 0.5 miles until you reach the entrance to the University of California, Berkeley campus. Sather Tower is located within the campus, and you can follow the signs pointing towards the Campanile.

If you are comfortable riding a bicycle, you can rent one from a local shop in Martinez. Start at the Martinez Marina and head east on the Martinez Bridge bike path.
