Driving
From Highway 1, exit onto Kelly Avenue (for Francis Beach), Venice Boulevard (for Venice Beach), or Young Avenue (for Dunes and Roosevelt Beaches). Parking is available at each beach entrance for $10. Credit cards are encouraged. The Francis Beach lot tends to fill up quickly, so consider the lots at Venice, Dunes, or Roosevelt Beaches if parking is limited. Note that Roosevelt Beach parking is temporarily closed, but pedestrian access remains open.
Public Transport
Take SamTrans route 17 or 294 to Half Moon Bay. From Main Street, transfer to SamTrans Ride Plus, an on-demand service, to reach the beach entrances. Download the app or call (650) 238-5880 to book your ride. Ride Plus operates within Half Moon Bay and costs the same as a bus ride. Alternatively, the Coastside Beach Shuttle may be available on weekends, connecting the SamTrans bus stop at Main Street and Poplar to Half Moon Bay State Beach, Roosevelt Beach, and Fitzgerald Marine Reserve.
Walking/Biking
If you're already in Half Moon Bay, the Coastside Trail provides a scenic and accessible route to the beaches. The trail runs along the eastern boundary of the beaches and connects to Pillar Point Harbor. You can access the trail from various points in town, including Main Street and Kelly Avenue.
