From Highway 1, approximately 9 miles north of Santa Cruz, watch for the unmarked dirt turnout on the west side of the highway, about a mile south of Davenport. The turnout is easy to miss, so keep an eye out for a wide spot on the side of the road. There are no signs indicating Shark Fin Cove. Parking is free but limited. Be aware that the lot can be crowded, especially on weekends. From the parking area, the trail to the cove begins across the railroad tracks.

The Santa Cruz Metro Route 40 runs between Santa Cruz and Davenport. From the Highway 1 & Davenport Ave stop, walk south along Highway 1 for approximately 1 mile. The cove is located off Highway 1, watch for the unmarked dirt turnout on the west side of the highway. The bus fare is between $2 and $7. Check the Santa Cruz Metro website for the most up-to-date schedule and fare information.
