Driving
From central Milpitas, head east on Calaveras Road. Continue for approximately 3 miles. The Downing Road Lot 3 Trailhead will be on your left at 3100 Calaveras Rd. Parking is free. Be aware that parking can fill up quickly on weekends and holidays, especially during peak season.
Public Transport
From the Milpitas BART station, take the VTA bus route 66 towards the Great Mall. Get off at the 'Calaveras Rd & Milpitas Blvd' stop. Walk northeast on Calaveras Road for about 0.5 miles. The entrance to Downing Road Lot 3 Trailhead will be on your left at 3100 Calaveras Rd. A single VTA bus fare is $2.50.
Walking
If you are within walking distance in Milpitas, head towards Calaveras Road. Walk east along Calaveras Road. Depending on your starting point, it may take approximately 30 to 45 minutes to reach the trailhead. The entrance will be at 3100 Calaveras Rd, which is marked.
