Experience Sunol Regional Wilderness

Getting There

  • Public Transit

    From Milpitas, walk to the nearest VTA Light Rail station, which is the Milpitas Light Rail Station. Board the VTA Light Rail Green Line towards the Baypointe station. Travel for about 8 stops, approximately 20 minutes, and get off at the Baypointe station. From Baypointe station, transfer to VTA Bus Route 180 towards the Fremont BART station. Ride for about 7 stops, approximately 25 minutes, and get off at the stop for 'Fremont BART'. Once at Fremont BART, board the BART train on the Yellow Line towards the Dublin/Pleasanton station. After approximately 10 stops, get off at the Dublin/Pleasanton station. Finally, from the BART station, catch the Wheels Bus Route 10 towards Livermore, which will take you to Sunol. The bus will drop you off near the entrance of Sunol Regional Wilderness, located at 1895 Geary Rd, Sunol, CA 94586.

  • Walking and Public Transit

    If you prefer a combination of walking and public transit, start at the Milpitas Transit Center. Walk to the VTA Light Rail stop at the Milpitas Light Rail Station. Take the VTA Light Rail Green Line towards Baypointe, and after about 20 minutes, transfer to VTA Bus Route 180 at Baypointe. Ride this bus for approximately 25 minutes to Fremont BART. From there, board the BART train on the Yellow Line towards Dublin/Pleasanton. After about 10 stops, get off at Dublin/Pleasanton. Finally, take Wheels Bus Route 10 to Sunol, which will take you directly to the entrance of Sunol Regional Wilderness.
