Discover more about Universal CityWalk Hollywood

Universal CityWalk Hollywood is more than just a shopping and dining destination; it's a meticulously crafted entertainment experience designed to capture the essence of Los Angeles and the magic of Hollywood. Opened in May 1993, CityWalk was the brainchild of architect Jon Jerde, who sought to create a space that blended the energy of a Southern California street scene with the allure of the movie industry. CityWalk's design draws inspiration from various iconic Los Angeles landmarks and architectural styles. Jerde aimed to create a sense of discovery and excitement around every corner, with vibrant neon signs, eclectic storefronts, and lively street performers contributing to the immersive atmosphere. The result is a pedestrian-only promenade that feels both familiar and fantastical, a place where visitors can escape the everyday and embrace the spirit of Hollywood. One of CityWalk's main attractions is the Universal Cinema AMC, a state-of-the-art movie theater that offers a premium cinematic experience. With 19 screens, including an IMAX theater and PRIME at AMC, the cinema showcases the latest Hollywood blockbusters with cutting-edge sound and video technology. The theater also hosts special screenings, premieres, and exclusive events, making it a popular destination for movie lovers. CityWalk is also a shopper's paradise, with over 30 stores offering a wide range of merchandise. Visitors can find official fan gear at the Dodgers Clubhouse Store, browse silly socks at the Los Angeles Sock Market, or discover the latest fashion trends at various boutiques.
