Driving
From Highway 1, the main coastal route, access to Half Moon Bay's beaches and downtown area is straightforward. For Half Moon Bay State Beach, follow the signs to Kelly Avenue, Venice Boulevard, or Young Avenue, depending on which beach (Francis, Venice, or Dunes) you wish to access. Parking is available at each beach entrance for $10. To reach downtown Half Moon Bay, continue on Highway 1 to Main Street. Turn west towards the ocean. Limited street parking is available, but ample 12-hour parking can be found on Johnston Street, one block east of Main Street.

SamTrans provides bus service to Half Moon Bay. From the Hillsdale Caltrain Station in San Mateo, take the 294 bus directly to Half Moon Bay. Several stops are available along Main Street. From the Daly City BART station, take the 110 bus to Linda Mar Park and Ride in Pacifica, then transfer to the 117 bus to Half Moon Bay.
