From Muir Woods National Monument, exit the park and head south on Muir Woods Rd toward California 1 (CA-1). Turn right onto CA-1 S and continue for approximately 10 miles. Merge onto US-101 S toward San Francisco and continue for about 6 miles. Take the exit for I-280 S toward San Francisco, then merge onto I-280 S. Follow signs for US-101 N and merge onto US-101 N.
