Getting There

  • Car

    From Muir Woods National Monument, exit the park and head south on Muir Woods Rd. Continue onto Mill Valley-Sausalito Rd for approximately 3 miles. Merge onto US-101 S towards San Francisco. After about 6 miles, take exit 437A toward I-580 W. Continue on I-580 W for about 4 miles and merge onto I-80 W towards San Francisco. Follow signs for the Bay Bridge, and once across the bridge, take the exit for Embarcadero. Turn left onto Embarcadero, then right onto Bay St, and finally left onto Hyde St. The Hyde Street Pier will be on your right at 2905 Hyde St, San Francisco, CA 94109. There may be parking fees in the area.

    From Muir Woods National Monument, you will need to take the Marin Transit bus. Walk to the nearest bus stop on Muir Woods Rd and catch the Marin Transit Route 66 bus towards Sausalito. Get off at the Sausalito Ferry Terminal. From there, you can take the Golden Gate Ferry to San Francisco. Once you arrive at the San Francisco Ferry Building, transfer to the Muni bus or cable car service towards Fisherman's Wharf.
