Discover more about Robert Biale Vineyards

Robert Biale Vineyards, nestled in Napa Valley's Oak Knoll District, offers a unique glimpse into California's winemaking heritage. Unlike many Napa wineries focused on Cabernet Sauvignon, Biale has become a revered name in Zinfandel and Petite Sirah, crafting wines from historic old vines, some dating back to the 1880s. The Biale family's story began in the 1930s when Pietro and Christina Biale immigrated from Northern Italy and planted Zinfandel vines. During Prohibition, Aldo Biale, Pietro's son, continued the winemaking tradition, even selling homemade Zinfandel known as "Black Chicken". This moniker became the name of Biale's flagship wine, a testament to the family's history and dedication. In 1991, Robert Biale, Aldo's son, along with partners, officially established Robert Biale Vineyards. Today, the winery is owned by the Biale family and continues to honor its heritage by crafting wines that reflect the unique terroir of Napa Valley. Winemaker David Natali crafts a portfolio of around 20 wines, with a focus on Zinfandel and Petite Sirah. Visitors can enjoy tastings in the winery's relaxed setting, often on the back porch with views of the surrounding vineyards. The winery is Napa Green certified, demonstrating its commitment to sustainable farming.
