Discover more about Comstock Saloon

Comstock Saloon, situated at 155 Columbus Ave in San Francisco, is more than just a bar; it's a portal to a bygone era. Established in 1907, the building has housed various bars, with Comstock Saloon opening in 2010. The saloon is named in honor of Henry Comstock of the Comstock Lode. The building itself has a rich history, surviving the 1906 earthquake and serving as the Andromeda Saloon before becoming the Comstock Saloon. During Prohibition, it operated as the Andromeda Cafe, discreetly serving alcohol for 'medicinal purposes'. Inside, the saloon preserves its historical charm with a 20-foot mahogany bar dating back to the late 1890s and 'punkah' ceiling fans from the 1910s. The interior has remained largely unchanged since its reconstruction in 1906. The walls are adorned with period bar accoutrements and antique barware. Live music, often jazz, fills the air nightly, adding to the immersive atmosphere. Comstock Saloon offers a menu of classic cocktails crafted with house-made bitters and syrups, alongside saloon-inspired dishes. It's a place where the past and present intertwine, offering patrons a unique and memorable experience.
