Getting There

• BART Train

  If you're starting from downtown Oakland, head to the 12th Street Oakland City Center BART station. Take the BART train towards San Francisco/Daly City. After approximately 15 minutes, get off at the Embarcadero station. Once you exit the station, follow the signs to the street level and head towards the Ferry Building. From the Ferry Building, walk along the Embarcadero waterfront for about 10 minutes until you reach Pier 35. The SS Jeremiah O'Brien will be right there.

• Bus

  From the Oakland City Center, you can take the AC Transit bus line 72 or 72M towards San Francisco. Get off at the 'Ferry Building' stop. Once you get off the bus, walk towards the waterfront and proceed along the Embarcadero for approximately 10 minutes to reach Pier 35, where the SS Jeremiah O'Brien is located.

• Ferry

  You can also take a ferry from Jack London Square in Oakland. Head to the ferry terminal and catch the ferry to San Francisco. The ferry ride takes about 30 minutes. When you arrive at the San Francisco Ferry Building, disembark and walk along the Embarcadero for about 10 minutes to reach Pier 35, the home of the SS Jeremiah O'Brien.

• Walking

  If you're staying in the downtown area of Oakland, you might consider walking to the nearest BART station and taking the train to San Francisco. However, if you're feeling adventurous and want to explore, you could walk to the waterfront at Jack London Square and then follow the shoreline to the ferry terminal, where you can take the ferry across to the Embarcadero in San Francisco. From there, it's about a 10-minute walk to Pier 35.
