Public Transit - BART

From downtown Oakland, head to the 12th Street Oakland City Center BART station. Purchase a ticket to San Francisco with the destination set for the Montgomery Street station. Board a train heading towards San Francisco International Airport. Once you arrive at Montgomery Street, exit the station and walk north on Montgomery Street towards California Street. Turn left onto California Street and continue until you reach Nob Hill.
Public Transit - AC Transit Bus

Locate the nearest AC Transit bus stop in Oakland. Take the 1R or 51 bus towards San Francisco. Ensure you stay on the bus until you reach the bus stop at California Street and Powell Street. From there, walk two blocks north on Powell Street, and then turn left onto California Street. You will arrive at Nob Hill shortly.
Walking

If you are in the area near the waterfront, you can walk towards the ferry building and follow the Embarcadero north. Turn onto California Street and continue walking uphill until you reach Nob Hill. Be prepared for a steep incline as you approach the area.
