    Discover more about Zuma Beach

Zuma Beach, located in Malibu, California, is a quintessential Southern California beach, stretching 1.8 miles along the Pacific Coast Highway. Its name may originate from a misspelling of Point Dume on an early map, or from the Chumash word for "abundance". Historically, the area was part of a private ranch before becoming the accessible public beach it is today. Zuma is renowned for its wide, clean sands and consistently good waves, making it a favorite for surfing, bodyboarding, and swimming. Lifeguard stations are strategically placed to ensure visitor safety, as strong rip currents can occur. The beach also offers volleyball courts, and food stands. Beyond the beach itself, Zuma has served as a backdrop for numerous films and television shows, including Baywatch and Planet of the Apes. Nearby attractions include Point Dume, offering panoramic ocean views, and the Malibu Pier. Zuma Beach provides an iconic California experience with its blend of natural beauty and recreational opportunities.
