Broad Beach
Broad Beach: Malibu's Tranquil Coastal Escape
Discover Malibu's best-kept secret: Lechuza Beach, where dramatic rock formations meet tranquil waters for an unforgettable coastal escape, offering serenity away from crowded shores.
Lechuza Beach, nestled in western Malibu, offers a serene escape with its dramatic rock formations, clear waters, and relatively secluded atmosphere. Unlike the bustling beaches further south, Lechuza provides a tranquil experience, perfect for those seeking relaxation and natural beauty. Access is discreet, adding to its charm, with pathways winding through residential areas before revealing the stunning coastline. While not ideal for surfing due to its rocky shoreline, it's a haven for photographers, tide pool explorers, and anyone wanting to unwind amidst stunning scenery. Remember to check tide times and respect the local environment to fully appreciate this coastal treasure. Be aware that parking is limited to street parking on Broad Beach Road, so arrive early, especially on weekends. Lechuza Beach promises a refreshing contrast to the typical crowded California beach experience.

Driving
From the Pacific Coast Highway (PCH), turn towards the ocean on Broad Beach Road. Continue along Broad Beach Road, looking for street parking. The primary access point is near the intersection of Bunnie Lane and Broad Beach Road. Other access points are located near the intersections of West Sea Level Drive and East Sea Level Drive with Broad Beach Road. Be mindful of parking restrictions and avoid blocking driveways. Parking is free but can be scarce, especially during peak hours.
Taxi/Ride-Share
Request a ride to the intersection of Broad Beach Road and Bunnie Lane. From there, it's a short walk to the beach access point. Be aware that ride-share availability in this area of Malibu can be limited, so plan accordingly. A ride from central Malibu (e.g., Malibu Pier) will cost approximately $15-$25, depending on demand and traffic.
Walking
If you are already in the Broad Beach area, follow Broad Beach Road until you reach one of the three access points: near Bunnie Lane, West Sea Level Drive, or East Sea Level Drive. Look for the marked beach access pathways. The walk from Zuma Beach is approximately 1.5 miles along the PCH and then down Broad Beach Road. Be cautious walking along the PCH as there is limited sidewalk in some areas.
