Discover more about Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters

Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters is a beloved attraction in Disneyland's Tomorrowland, inviting guests to become Space Rangers and help Buzz Lightyear defeat the Evil Emperor Zurg. Based on the Disney-Pixar film *Toy Story 2*, this interactive dark ride combines a carnival game with a slow-moving ride system, making it a hit with visitors of all ages. As you board your XP-40 space cruiser, you're equipped with a laser cannon to fire at glowing "Z" targets throughout the shadowy Gamma Quadrant. Use the joystick to spin your vehicle a full 360 degrees, maximizing your score as you battle Zurg and his rampaging squad of robots. The more targets you hit, the higher your score, and the better your Star Command ranking. Opening in 2005 as part of Disneyland's 50th-anniversary celebration, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters replaced the CircleVision Theater. The ride is based on its counterpart, Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin, at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom. The Disneyland version allows riders to remove the laser guns from their mounts for more accurate shooting. As you journey through the ride, Buzz Lightyear guides you on your mission, providing instructions and encouragement as you encounter Zurg's robot army. The ride culminates in a final battle with Zurg himself before returning to the spaceport. Whether you're a seasoned Space Ranger or a rookie recruit, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters offers a fun and engaging experience for everyone. With its interactive gameplay, familiar characters, and exciting storyline, it's no wonder that this attraction remains a popular choice for Disneyland visitors.
