Public Transit
Begin your journey at the Redding City Hall bus stop. Take the RABA Route 1 towards the Redding Mall. Ride for about 30 minutes until you reach the Shasta Lake Transit Center. From there, transfer to Shasta Lake Route 2. Continue on this bus for approximately 20 minutes. Get off at the stop closest to Shasta Lake, and head north on Lake Blvd. Walk for about 15 minutes to reach the Largest Grindstone in the World, located at 40.6805° N, 122.3505° W.
Bicycle
Starting from the downtown area of Redding, head north on California St. and follow it as it turns into Lake Blvd. Continue cycling on Lake Blvd for approximately 10 miles. The route will take you along the scenic views near the Sacramento River. Upon reaching Shasta Lake, look for signage directing you to the Largest Grindstone in the World. It should be visible from the road. The ride will take about 45 minutes, depending on your cycling speed.
Walking
If you're feeling adventurous and are up for a long walk, start at the Redding Civic Auditorium. Head north on Auditorium Dr. until you reach Lake Blvd. Turn right on Lake Blvd and follow it north for about 7 miles. This journey will take approximately 2.5 hours on foot. As you walk, enjoy the surrounding nature and keep an eye out for the Largest Grindstone in the World as you approach Shasta Lake.
