Getting There

• Walking

  If you are starting from downtown Redding, head east on East Street toward California Street. Continue straight until you reach the intersection with Market Street. Turn left onto Market Street and follow it until you reach the junction with Cypress Avenue. Turn right onto Cypress Avenue and walk for about 1 mile until you reach the entrance of Turtle Bay Exploration Park. From there, follow the signs leading to McConnell Arboretum & Botanical Gardens, which is located within the park at 1125 Arboretum Dr. Expect a pleasant walk of approximately 30-40 minutes.

• Public Transit

  From Redding's downtown area, locate the nearest bus stop for RABA (Redding Area Bus Authority). Take Bus Route 2 towards the Turtle Bay area. Stay on the bus until you reach the Turtle Bay Exploration Park stop. Once you exit, follow the signs to McConnell Arboretum & Botanical Gardens, which is a short walk inside the park, located at 1125 Arboretum Dr. The bus ride takes about 15-20 minutes and the gardens are easily accessible from the bus stop.

• Bicycle

  For those who prefer cycling, you can rent a bike from a local rental shop in downtown Redding. Start by heading east on East Street, then follow the bike lanes along Market Street. Continue on Cypress Avenue, which has designated bike paths. Upon reaching Turtle Bay Exploration Park, you can park your bike at the designated bike racks. McConnell Arboretum & Botanical Gardens is inside the park at 1125 Arboretum Dr. The ride takes approximately 10-15 minutes depending on your pace.
