Discover more about Redding Civic Auditorium

The Redding Civic Auditorium, located at 700 Auditorium Drive, has served as a cultural touchstone for the North State region since its opening in 1970. Businessman and former Redding Mayor Carl A. Williams conceived the idea for a cultural center in the mid-1940s, but it took roughly 25 years of perseverance to realize the vision. The auditorium officially opened its doors with a performance by the legendary Ray Charles. Positioned strategically between San Francisco and Seattle, the Redding Civic Auditorium has attracted numerous iconic performers, including Joan Baez, Dolly Parton, and Willie Nelson. The auditorium's design allows for a variety of uses, including concerts, events, trade shows, and banquets. The indoor venue can accommodate over 2,000 people with reserved seating and up to 2,400 for concerts with standing general admission. For larger outdoor concerts, the front lawn can host crowds of 5,000 to 7,000 or more. Advance Redding, a non-profit organization, manages and revitalizes the auditorium. Since 2011, they have worked to establish a sustainable business model, offering diverse programming and reinvesting event revenue back into the facility. The Redding Civic Auditorium remains committed to providing a safe and enjoyable experience for all patrons, artists, staff, and volunteers.
