    From anywhere in Old Sacramento, the Waterfront Wheel is easily accessible by foot. Head towards the Sacramento River and look for the 65-foot Ferris wheel. It is located in Waterfront Park, in front of the Rio City Cafe.

  • Public Transport

    Old Sacramento Waterfront is a short walk from the Sacramento Valley Station, which is serviced by Amtrak, Capitol Corridor, and Regional Transit Light Rail Gold Line. Several bus lines also stop near Old Sacramento. Check Sacramento Regional Transit (SacRT) for the most up-to-date routes and schedules. A single ride on SacRT costs approximately $2.50.

  • Car

    If driving, head towards downtown Sacramento and take I-5 South to the J Street exit. Follow J Street to Front Street, then turn right onto Front Street. The Waterfront Wheel is located at 1150 Front St. Two-hour metered street parking is available throughout Old Sacramento for a fee. Surface lot parking is available at Front & L Street, accessible from Firehouse Alley. Two public parking garages are also available: Old Sacramento Garage (I Street between 3rd and 2nd) and Tower Bridge Garage (Capitol Blvd at Neasham Circle). Parking fees vary, but typically range from $5 to $20. Weekend prepay rates at the Old Sacramento Garage are $10-$15.

The surrounding Old Sacramento area is filled with Gold Rush-era buildings, vibrant culture, and unique finds. Note that the Waterfront Wheel and the nearby Old Sacramento Schoolhouse are slated for removal in 2025 to make way for a new Native American Children's Play Area. Construction is scheduled to begin in June and end in December.
