Pescadero Point: A Coastal Paradise

Getting There

• Walking

  If you're in Big Sur and want to reach Pescadero Point, begin at the Big Sur River Inn. From the Inn, head south on CA-1 (Pacific Coast Highway) on foot for approximately 5.5 miles. This will take you along a scenic route where you can enjoy views of the rugged coastline. Keep an eye out for the bridge over the Big Sur River. As you walk, be cautious of traffic. Continue until you reach the junction with 17 Mile Drive in Pebble Beach. At this junction, you will need to find a way to access 17 Mile Drive, as it is a private road. If necessary, ask locals for the best access point. Once you enter 17 Mile Drive, continue walking until you reach Pescadero Point, which is located at approximately 3290 17 Mile Dr, Pebble Beach.

• Hiking

  For a more adventurous route, you can hike from Big Sur to Pescadero Point. Start at the Pfeiffer Big Sur State Park. Follow the trails that lead you southeast towards the coast, making sure to check trail maps available at the park entrance. This route will take you through stunning redwood forests and eventually lead you to coastal views. Be prepared for challenging terrain. Once you reach the coastline, navigate towards the south along the Pacific Ocean until you can connect to 17 Mile Drive. Follow 17 Mile Drive until you reach Pescadero Point. Ensure you are equipped with proper hiking gear and plenty of water.
