Public Transport

To reach the Coronado Bridge via public transport from downtown San Diego, use the MTS bus system. Several bus lines, including the 901, 923, and 992, connect various points in downtown San Diego with Coronado. From the airport, you can take the 992 bus to Broadway & Front Street, then transfer to the 901 bus, which crosses the bridge and stops at 3rd Street & Orange Avenue in Coronado. The bus fare is approximately $2.50 per ride, or $6 for an all-day pass. Alternatively, take the ferry from Broadway Pier to Coronado Ferry Landing for $9 per ride.
Taxi/Ride-share

Taxis and ride-sharing services like Uber and Lyft offer a direct route to the Coronado Bridge. From downtown San Diego, a taxi or ride-share will cost approximately $15-$25, depending on traffic and demand. The trip typically takes 10-20 minutes. There are no tolls. Parking on Coronado Island is free, with a 2-hour limit on Orange Avenue and free parking along Ocean Boulevard. Limited metered parking is available for $0.25 per hour.

Designed by Robert Mosher, the bridge was built to provide a crucial transportation link while also allowing ships to pass underneath, requiring a clearance of 200 feet. The bridge's curved design was a solution to meet both requirements, adding to its unique aesthetic appeal.The 2.1-mile-long bridge is not only an engineering feat but also a canvas for public art. The supporting pillars are adorned with the largest collection of Chicano art murals in the world, adding a cultural dimension to the structure and reflecting the region's rich heritage. While there is no pedestrian access, except during special events, the views from nearby parks and waterfront spots are unmatched.
