Getting There

• Walking

  If you are in the heart of La Jolla, start by heading south on La Jolla Blvd. Continue until you reach the intersection with Prospect St. Turn right onto Prospect St and walk towards the coast. Once you reach the ocean, continue walking along the scenic coastline until you approach the entrance of La Jolla Scenic Drive. Follow La Jolla Scenic Drive uphill. Look for signs directing you to Mount Soledad Memorial Park, which is located at 6905 La Jolla Scenic S Dr. The total walking distance from downtown La Jolla is approximately 2 miles and may take around 40-50 minutes. Please wear comfortable shoes as the route includes some uphill sections.

• Public Transportation

  From anywhere in La Jolla, you can take the MTS Bus Route 30. Check the nearest bus stop and board the bus heading towards Downtown San Diego. You will need to get off at the stop near the intersection of La Jolla Scenic Dr and Torrey Pines Rd. From there, you can either walk approximately 0.5 miles uphill to reach Mount Soledad Memorial Park or transfer to a local taxi or rideshare service which may charge a small fee (typically $10-$15) for the short distance, depending on the service provider.

• Biking

  If you have access to a bicycle, you can bike from La Jolla Village. Head south on La Jolla Blvd, then turn onto Prospect St towards the coast. Once you reach the coastline, follow the bike paths along the scenic route. Continue onto La Jolla Scenic Dr, which will lead you directly to Mount Soledad Memorial Park. The biking distance is about 2 miles, and it should take roughly 15-20 minutes. Make sure to wear a helmet and obey traffic regulations.
