Getting There

    From Union Square, head towards the southwest corner of the square where you see the iconic 'Union Square' sign. Walk down Powell Street, which is located near the southwest entrance of the square. Continue walking for about 2 blocks until you reach Post Street. At Post Street, turn right and walk for one block until you see Dewey Monument located at 333 Post St, right in the center of the intersection with Geary Street.

  • Public Transportation (Cable Car)

    If you prefer a more scenic route, you can take the Powell-Mason cable car line. To find the cable car stop, walk to the corner of Powell and Market Streets. Board the cable car heading towards Fisherman's Wharf. After a short ride, disembark at the stop for Post Street. From there, walk a short distance to the Dewey Monument located at 333 Post St. Note that there is a fare of $8.00 for a single ride on the cable car.

  • Public Transportation (Bus)

    You can also take the Muni bus to reach Dewey Monument. Walk to the nearest bus stop on Geary Street (around the north side of Union Square). Board either the 38 or 38R bus, both of which head towards the Inner Richmond or the Outer Richmond. Get off at the stop at Post Street.
