  • Public Transit (Bus)

    From Santa Monica, head to the Santa Monica Civic Center Bus Terminal. Board the Big Blue Bus Route 10 towards 'Downtown LA'. Stay on the bus for about 30-40 minutes, depending on traffic. Get off at the stop at 'Hollywood Blvd & Western Ave'. From there, transfer to the Metro Red Line at the Hollywood/Western Station. Take the Metro Red Line towards 'North Hollywood' and get off at 'Universal City'. Transfer to the Metro bus '224' towards 'Griffith Park'. Get off at 'Zoo Dr & Travel Town'. You will arrive right at the entrance of the Los Angeles Zoo.

  • Bicycle Rental

    Rent a bike from one of the many rental shops in Santa Monica, such as 'Santa Monica Bike Center'. Head east on Colorado Ave until you reach 4th St. Turn left on 4th St and continue until you reach Wilshire Blvd. Take a right on Wilshire Blvd and continue until you reach La Brea Ave. Turn left on La Brea Ave and continue north. Follow La Brea Ave until it turns into Griffith Park Blvd. Finally, take a left onto Zoo Dr, and you will see the entrance to the Los Angeles Zoo.

    Although it's quite a long walk, you can make your way to the Los Angeles Zoo on foot. Start at Santa Monica Pier and head east on Ocean Ave until you reach Colorado Ave. Take Colorado Ave all the way until it turns into Wilshire Blvd. Continue walking until you reach La Brea Ave, then turn left. Walk north on La Brea Ave until you reach Griffith Park Blvd. Turn left onto Griffith Park Blvd and then left onto Zoo Dr. The Los Angeles Zoo will be on your right.
