From Grant Grove Village, follow the signs towards the General Grant Tree. The Fallen Monarch is located along the General Grant Tree Trail, a short, paved loop that starts from the General Grant Tree parking area, approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) northwest of the Kings Canyon Visitor Center. Parking is available at the General Grant Tree parking area. During peak season, parking can be limited, so arrive early. There is no fee to park, but entrance fees to Kings Canyon National Park apply. As of 2025, the entrance fee is $35 per vehicle, valid for 7 days.
