Car
If you're driving from the center of South Coast, you will want to take CA-1 N (Pacific Coast Highway). From South Coast, get onto CA-1 N and follow the signs towards Pebble Beach. Continue on CA-1 N for approximately 20 miles. As you approach Pebble Beach, look for the entrance to the famous 17-Mile Drive. There is a toll fee of $11.25 per vehicle for accessing the 17-Mile Drive. After paying the toll, proceed along the scenic drive until you reach the Lone Cypress viewpoint, which is well-marked along the route.

Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, start by taking a local bus service to Monterey. From South Coast, catch the Monterey-Salinas Transit (MST) bus line 1, which will take you to the Monterey Transit Plaza. Once you arrive at the plaza, transfer to MST bus line 23, which goes directly to Pebble Beach. The bus fare is approximately $2.00. After the transfer, inform the driver that you want to get off at the stop for 17-Mile Drive. From there, it’s about a 15-minute walk to the Lone Cypress viewpoint. Be aware that public transportation schedules may vary, so check the MST website for the latest routes and times.
